The Industrial Design Section covers a range of research areas and we have re-search projects within Design Driven Inno-vation, Framing and Meaning Making, Agile Product Development, Form and Aesthet-ics and Service Design. Since the beginning we have been pre-occupied with the trans-parency of design processes and methods, which is also reflected in the student pro-jects you will find in this folder and espe-cially in the process reports for each project.
In 1997 we established a study program in Industrial Design. The outset was to create a hybrid between Industrial Design and Engineering, back then it was very innovative in a Nordic context, and we have continuously developed our curriculum and program to maintain a competitive profile.
Our graduates have a very broad profile and the hybrid model of Industrial Design Engineers have found work in a very broad range of companies from studios like Designit and Ideaal, to small and medium companies like Hay, Dolle, Nilfisk and Trip Trap to large companies like Lego, Grund-fos and IKEA.
They have job descriptions ranging from Design researcher, Industrial Designer, Product Designer, Mechanical Designer, Design Engineer, Product Man-ager, Project Manager, Innovation consultant, Business Development Manager and many others. Regardless of the job title and type of company, our Graduates can bring a strong methodological and holistic focus to the development process.
